Churup Mountain Hotel was born through a collective passion for nature, a hunger for adventure and a desire to connect with and explore the Cordillera Blanca mountains. The Good family moved from England to Peru in 2002, when Alex founded and laid the first bricks, for what is now one of the Peru’s leading mountain hotels, with his brother Charlie. Mother Good was involved, adding the feminine touch and helping to define the brands elegant and authentic style. Strategically positioned below the shadows of the Cordillera’s giants, Churup Mountain Hotel is a labour of love and an ongoing testament to one man’s will to share his love for the great outdoors, spiritual wellness and local culture.

Meet the Churup Mountain Hotel team who are responsible for making sure our high standards our maintained.
Founder
Alex is the dreamer, founder and creator of the project and has overseen the construction and development since its inception in 2002. When he is not at the hotel overseeing management and attending to guests, he is often visiting his son in England. Alex is also an active member of worthy environmental causes such as the Standing Rock demonstration.
Matriarch
Janina is the Matriarch that keeps everyone in line, so you had better behave when she is around. She is mother to Alex and Charlie, which keeps her young and on her toes. Janina’s background and career in catering and interior design, has proven invaluable in giving the lodge its unique authentic style.
General Manager
Charlie dug the first foundations in July 2002, with his brother Alex and continued to carry on digging the foundations whilst Alex was down in Huaraz buying tools. Charlie is the GM and responsible for legal, financial and staffing issues, and is a Chartered Accountant (CPA).
Operations Manager
Fluent in English, Spanish and her native French language, Eva is responsible for all hospitality and administration tasks, whilst making sure all clients are well looked after and leave with a smile on their face.
Web & Marketing Manager
When Luke isn’t in the mountains trekking, running or bounding around on his bike, he makes sure that the business has clients coming through the doors & keeps the website & digital platform in order.
Groundsman & Gardner
One day Tomas asked Charlie if he needed some help when he was scraping out the first foundations on a desolate rocky hillside back in 2012. Since then he has been an integral part in maintaining the hotel, the gardens and hydro plant. He is Churup’s right hand man that keeps everything in working order.
Head Chef
Vilma is a stalwart that keeps everyone fed and is in charge of the kitchen delivering delicious and healthy meals that keep us all energised day in day out.
