Churup Mountain Hotel is situated a 40 minute drive from the city of Huaraz, heading east towards the Huascaran National Park. We are nestled between the gorges of Cojup and Quilcayhuanca. We can provide a supplementary private taxi service if required, from Huaraz or Anta airport. We do ask that you give us 48hrs notice prior to your pick-up/drop off date.
Churup Mountain Hotel can be accessed by several different means of transport, despite its remote location. Huaraz is the nearest major city from where the bus companies arrive and depart, with the airport just a 30 minute taxi ride from the centre.
If you are arriving in your own transport, we advise you to leave in the morning to arrive before it’s dark (Lima-Hotel aprox 7-8hrs). We recommend downloading our PDF Driving Instructions, and writing down the hotels contact number to get more information should you need it. Once you turn off the Pan American Highway there are some places where cell phone coverage is limited.
Bus travel is relatively cheap and an easy way of travelling from Lima to the Cordillera Blanca. When visiting Huaraz, we recommend that you go with Cruz Del Sur or Movil Tours bus operators direct. A good option is to choose the overnight bus from Lima arriving early the following morning to Huaraz. A private taxi pickup can be arranged to transport you directly to the hotel in time for breakfast with an incredible view of the mountains.
There are currently only flights on Tues, Thurs & Sat, departing from Lima to Anta airport with LC Peru. Flights take 45mins & cost on average around US120 return depending on availability. Upon arrival at Anta airport we can have a prearranged private taxi collection waiting to take you directly to the hotel. Due to variable weather, we only recommend using this service from May to September.
